Dexterity, a global leader in physical AI and robotics, today announced a strategic partnership with ASRock Rack, a leading provider of server and motherboard solutions, to develop custom AI supercomputing systems that power edge intelligence in Dexterity's Mech industrial superhumanoid robot. The collaboration brings enterprise-grade computational power directly to the robot, enabling real-time AI processing for complex warehouse automation tasks without relying on cloud connectivity.
The partnership centers on ASRock Rack's development of specialized custom edge AI servers—compact servers optimized for the demanding computational requirements of Dexterity's Physical AI platform. These custom systems are designed to handle the intensive processing needed for Dexterity's modular AI architecture, which combines foundation model decision engines with specialized manipulation agents to solve previously intractable packing and handling problems.
By embedding powerful AI supercomputing capabilities directly into the Mech platform, Dexterity's robots can create a real-time picture of their environment from force sensors and up to sixteen 3D cameras, perform complex reasoning, planning, and manipulation tasks entirely at the edge. This eliminates latency issues, ensures consistent performance regardless of network conditions, and provides the computational foundation needed for safe, real-time, production-grade performance in enterprise environments.
ASRock Rack's custom edge AI servers are engineered to meet the unique requirements of robotic applications, including thermal management, vibration resistance, and power efficiency while delivering the processing power necessary for Dexterity's sophisticated AI algorithms.
